Private AI
Private, on-premise AI for Western Australian businesses
Every application we build can run entirely inside your network, on your own hardware with open-weight models. Nothing is sent to an external AI provider, and it keeps working when the internet doesn't.
Why WA companies ask for it
For many WA companies, keeping data in-house is the condition for using AI at all.
- Unannounced drilling results stay off third-party services until you report them
- Client, patient and commercial records never leave your network
- Works at remote sites with poor or no internet
- Your own data is used alongside public data, privately
Example: an exploration platform that keeps your data in the building
Explorers hold their most sensitive data before it is announced: new assays, core scans, target maps. With an on-premise install, GeoPlatform, MineTrace and CoreFlagging sit on your server next to that data, with a local language model. Public geoscience flows in; your results and the scores built from them stay with you. AI for mining.
Example: a voice assistant with no cloud
A device in the room listens for its wake word locally. A server on your network does speech recognition, the language model and the reply voice. Local is not only more private, it can be faster too.
| Measured step | Time |
|---|---|
| First word from an 8B model on a local GPU server | 43 ms |
| Same step with a small cloud model | 720 ms |
| Same step with a large cloud model | 2,400 ms |
| From end of speech to the reply starting | 320 to 434 ms |
Questions
What is on-premise AI?
AI that runs on hardware you control, in your office, data centre or at site, using open-weight language models. Nothing is sent to an external AI provider such as a public chatbot service.
Is local AI slower than cloud AI?
Not necessarily. In our measurements the first word from an 8B model on a local GPU server arrived in 43 ms, against 720 ms for a small cloud model and 2,400 ms for a large one.
Which of your applications can run on our own servers?
All of them: GeoPlatform, MineTrace, CoreFlagging, GeoThought, Keys, Numbat, BiomassFlux and Mareon can each be installed on your own hardware.
Does it work at remote sites?
Yes. Because nothing depends on an external AI service, the applications keep working when the internet doesn't.
Keen to have a chat?
Schedule a coffee chat in Perth, an online meeting or an in-person meeting at your office. A rough idea of what you'd like to improve is plenty.
